The word rotary relates to the way that the shaving heads rotate in an electric shaver and most electric shavers have rotary shaving heads.
They are very good as they require much less movement from yourself as you are shaving and can in fact shave even if you hold the shaver still, it is best to move the rotary shaver around slowly as you shave.
